Since its 2004 debut, LEAF in Schools & Streets has featured talented and
award-winning artists, who have inspired more than 2,500 Buncombe County
area young people in 9 schools, 4 after-school programs, The Reid Community
Center, YWCA youth programs, and the Blue Brass Project which united youth
of WNC & TIPS interns of New Orleans through music, workshops, and
performances.
Lake Eden Arts Festival (LEAF) is a non-profit organization established to
enhance people¹s lives through the ARTS, music, dance, and culinary arts. We
value community, world cultures, heritage preservation, multi-cultural
education and connecting families to the arts. The LEAF in Schools & Streets
outreach program is dedicated to empowering youth through festive arts.

HOW CAN YOU HELP NOW? DONATE INSTRUMENTS
Reconnect New Orleans young musicians & professionals with instruments! Give
INSTRUMENTS of any kind in playable condition or $ to purchase instruments.
Even small gifts of money can be put towards buying all the necessary extras
(i.e. valve oil, resin, cleaners, music stands, etc.!)
LEAF & Tipitina's of New Orleans teamed up the day after Katrina struck and
Instruments are a priority need of the musicians. Most were left, as they
had to evacuate. Musicians need their instruments for work, spirit, and a
connection to their life. If you have PROFESSIONAL quality instruments to
donate we will match directly with a musician.
WHO:
LEAF & WNCW will make an instrument convoy to New Orleans for New Years
Eve at TIPITINAS. You may join us as well for New Years at Tipitina’s with
NPR and featuring a "Second Line Jazz Funeral For the Souls of New Orleans",
delivering donated instruments, and helping musicians.
WHEN:
NOW thru December 28th. The instrument convoy will depart December
30th to New Orleans.
WHERE:
Drop off points locally: LEAF Office, Town Pump in Black Mountain,
Asheville Area Arts Council, or call us & we will come pick up, 828-68-MUSIC
(686-8742)
In SPINDALE area drop off at WNCW.
IN CHARLOTTE, NC take to Ivi’s Chapel by the Wonderworld Film Offices.
