VISUAL ARTS
Painting, sculpture and other forms of visual arts are big possibilities for future LEAF in Schools & Streets programs. If you are a visual artist interested in LEAF or a educator seeking a visual artist for your classroom, mention this on your application and we will see what seeds we can plant for the future.
Currently, Darrell Rose uses his African drumming workshops as an environment for students to create visual art. Reid Center Youth are exploring stain class, concrete garden art and creativity with LEAF’s awesome interns Shannon and Jil. Zulu Connection teaches the arts of New Orleans Mardi Gras Indians, and the Shabu Family have taught African textiles.
