Partner Highlights!
YWCA of AshevilleThe mission of the YWCA of Asheville is eliminating racism and empowering women. Partnering with LEAF in Schools & Streets (LSS) is one of the ways that the YWCA works to meet this mission. The YWCA has been involved with LSS since its beginnings and continues to support our efforts to reach young people through music and arts. The YWCA has 9 programs bridging gaps in education, child care, health care and earning power.
Children First/Communities in Schools: Deaverview, Pisgah View & Woodridge Learning CentersThe mission of Children First/CIS is to improve the lives of children, youth and their families through community collaboration, advocacy and programs. LSS has been partnering with Children First since our program began in 2004. Children First is an integral & powerful partner for the LEAF in Schools & Streets (LSS) after-school Resident
Teaching Artist program, which runs 7 months during the school year, in the following housing communities in Asheville: Deaverview, Pisgah View & Woodridge. Children First runs after-school programs and LSS provides the arts component to their programming.

Tens of thousands of concerned citizens visit the website every month and use its resources to keep music education strong in their schools and communities. SupportMusic.com is building a proactive and unified approach to federal, state and local level advocacy for music education as a core academic subject in schools. The coalition is united in its support of a complete education that includes music and arts instruction for all children.
