LEAF is so much more than just a festival. Some have compared it to a way of life, their “religion,” a spirit, and yes, even magic. The feeling LEAF gives us that we are a part of something bigger and more meaningful in life. One LEAFer even says: “that everyone here is my friend, we just haven’t met yet.” Whether it is music, dance, art, nature, family or friends that brings us back each time, we are a community.
 

The LEAF Giving Spirit:

Like all LEAF kids crafters, Rosa Sickenberger & Dottie Benninghofen worked VERY hard making their craft, and selling their wares all weekend at the Kids Craft Market. They decided that they wanted to DONATE their earnings to a charity at the end of the weekend and decided that LEAF in Schools & Streets was the most worthy. These two gals raised $14.50 and only kept 75 cents apiece for themselves. LEAFers contributed almost $5,000 at the May 2011 LEAF through memberSHIP, raffle & donations and each donation means SO MUCH to our programs. But NOTHING warmed my heart MORE than that $13 gift. THANK YOU Rosa & Dottie for your generous gift...you and your families TRULY moved the LEAF spirit in me.

Giving back to our community is a powerful vehicle for change and spreading the spirit of LEAF out into the world.
