Rustic elegance in a newly rebuilt 1814 Log Cabin at Lake Eden. The cabin is nestled in a grove where the historic Black Mountain College once thrived. During the '40s and '50s as one of the most important educational and artistic experiments. Mt. Mitchell, the highest point east of the Rockies, stands tall in the distance, mountain lakes and streams welcome you, and the beauty and spirit of this place is truly relaxing and magical.
The cabin is in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. While you enjoy a feeling of being far away you have the luxury of being close to so many great experiences... Black Mountain (5 minutes), Asheville (20 min), Blue Ridge Parkway, Biltmore Estate, Cherokee, and outdoor adventures abound (hikes, rafting, mountain biking, climbing, picnics, etc).
About your Cabin Stay- Eating at the cabin....Full Kitchenette with microwave, stovetop, sink, and supplies. So bring some food. Lots of great restaurants 5 to 20 minutes drive. Check-in time is 3-6pm & Check-out time is noon unless other arrangements are made. This is a non smoking cabin (except for your woodstove chimney) Pets only upon prior approval & there is an additional $25 charge During high season and weekends please plan to stay a minimum of 2 nights. Good Sleepin' at the Cabin....loft with queen bed, Living Room double futon & single futon. Sleeps 1-4 happy persons. TV/VCR for tapes is available.

MOUNTAIN STREAM is our larger historic home. 4 bedrooms, pooltable, tub jacuzzis, large stone fireplace, lots of decks, view of Mt. Mitchell, We do rent single bedrooms as a relaxed B&B or the full house (especially during summer season). Contact 828/686-5380 for further information.

1-40 to Swannanoa Exit 59. Left at end of ramp. Right at light onto US 70.
Left at next light,cross small bridge, right at yield onto Old US70. 1.9
miles to light. Left onto Lake Eden Rd.
From East:
I-40 to 1st Black Mtn. Exit #65. Exit merges to Hwy. 70. 3.5 miles, pass
lots of small businesses, Marine Boats & see large Ingles Warehouse on left.
Right at traffic light onto Grovestone Road. Left at next light onto Old US
70. 1st light right onto Lake Eden Road.
By Air:
Asheville Airport w/ USAir, Delta, Continental, Northwest-25 minutes
Greenville SC (GSP) Airport- 1.5 hours
Charlotte NC (CLT)- 2.5 hours
Once on Lake Eden Road...You will pass Camp Rockmont (do not turn in!) and
the next entrance will say "Lake Eden Arts Festival" and "Eden". Turn left
onto this paved drive that is between two lakes. The address is 377 Lake
Eden Rd. Follow drive and at the fork bear right, come up hill, go straight
behind Pickering Home "Mountain Stream" and the drive turns to gravel. You
will see your cabin awaiting you just ahead.
